Terms of service
These terms apply when you download, install or use VATsnap.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using VATsnap, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
2. What VATsnap does
VATsnap is a record-keeping and productivity app for UK contractors, agency workers, HGV drivers, tradespeople and small business users. It helps record shifts, jobs, invoices, payments, expenses, receipts, reports and VAT estimates.
3. Not tax, legal or accounting advice
Important: VATsnap is a helper tool only. It is not a replacement for an accountant, bookkeeper, solicitor, HMRC guidance, DVSA guidance or professional advice. You are responsible for checking figures, invoices, VAT treatment, tax rules and legal obligations before relying on them.
4. OCR and receipt scanning
Receipt OCR can make mistakes, especially with folded, damaged, faded, cropped, blurred or badly lit receipts. VATsnap may prefill fields, but you must check supplier, date, total, VAT, net and category before saving or claiming an expense.
5. Your records and backups
VATsnap stores app data locally on your device. You should keep your own backups and exports. We are not responsible for loss of data caused by uninstalling the app, clearing app storage, phone failure, lost devices, corrupted files, Android updates, cloud sync issues or user error.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use VATsnap for unlawful activity, fraudulent invoicing, false expense claims, harassment, malware, reverse engineering, attempts to bypass paid features, or any use that could damage the app or other users.
7. Paid features, trials and subscriptions
VATsnap may offer paid features, free trials or subscriptions. Prices, trial length, renewal terms and cancellation rules will be shown at the point of purchase. If purchases are made through Google Play, Google Play billing and refund terms also apply.
8. Third-party services
When you share invoices, reports, backup files or receipt files through email, cloud storage, printer apps, messaging apps or other external apps, those services are outside VATsnap's control and are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
9. Intellectual property
The VATsnap name, design, app code and branding are owned by Nexus Foundry or its licensors. You may use the app as intended, but you may not copy, redistribute, reverse engineer, resell or modify the app without permission except where allowed by law.
10. Availability and changes
We may update, improve, remove or change VATsnap features over time. We aim to keep the app useful, but we do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nexus Foundry is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or financial losses arising from use of VATsnap, including incorrect records, incorrect VAT estimates, missed deadlines, OCR errors, data loss or business interruption.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
